Industry Affiliates Program
Invitation to Industry:
The FAU Industry Affiliates Program (IAP) is one of the primary means by which the FAU Center for Ocean Energy Technology cultivates relationships with industry. We invite industry to join the Center as a partner in developing this new technology for energy self-sufficiency in the 21st Century.
The IAP seeks support and resources for the enhancement of the Center and its activities, such as program development, research enhancements, acquiring scientific equipment, K-12 outreach and public education. IAP members will be able to gain introductions to faculty technology leaders, set up research partnerships, recruit the best engineering talent and consult with the Center about educating the ocean energy engineers of tomorrow. Your support will enable your organization to leverage our resources and network with our other partners as you develop capabilities within your own company.
Your organization's leadership and philanthropic support is greatly appreciated and will be recognized and offered the corresponding benefits outlined below.
Membership Levels and Benefits:
Our Industry Affiliates enjoy the following benefits through their enhanced relationship with the Center:
Industry Affiliates joining the Center between July 2007 and December 2008 will be honored as Charter Industry Affiliates.
Sustaining Member - $25,000 + per year
Payable as $25,000+ cash or Gift-in-Kind (GIK) at Fair Market Value (FMV).
- Sustaining Members who choose to pay this membership level fee with at least $7,500 in cash may elect an Option to negotiate a license for any intellectual property coming from Center activities
- Nomination to the Industry Advisory Committee
- Assigned Center faculty liaison

Sustaining Member Event Package
- Waiver of registration fees for Center events up to 3 company personnel
- Invitation to all Center events and symposia
- Recognition in event signage
- Invitation to donor recognition events

Research package
- Cost-effective, highly leveraged research
- Priority access to research facilities
- Advance copies of research results and publications
- Opportunities to send key researchers and executives to Center/SeaTech as speakers or co-principal investigators, or to host events at the Center
- Teaming opportunities on proposals in response to government funding initiatives
- Services of the Center Corporate Relations Team to facilitate interaction with research, faculty, students, Center and other FAU offices, and other parts of FAU to help achieve your corporate objectives
- Access to Center directory of research expertise

Recognition Package: Visibility within the Center community through a wide variety of channels
- Mention in Center press releases as appropriate
- Recognition with company logo prominently displayed at Center/SeaTech
- Recognition as a supporter in a variety of publications distributed to current students, alumni, faculty and staff
- Recognition in various places within the Center website
- Acknowledgment in the Center Annual Report
- Priority notification of additional specific sponsorship opportunities offered by the Center and other high-visibility, community-wide events at the Center

Priority Communications package:
- Regular communications about upcoming events, special programs, and updates about Center and FAU activities
- Receive Center Publications, Newsletter and other Announcements
- Complimentary subscriptions to a number of FAU publications, including Legacy, Office of Research Newsletter, plus other magazines and newsletters as appropriate

Student Access Package
- Enhanced access to recruiting-related events and data via collaboration between Center Corporate Relations Team and the Career Development Office
- Facilitate access to student organizations

Tax-deductibility
- For members electing the Intellectual Property Option, the greater of $17,500 or the amount in excess of $7,500 of the annual membership fee may be consider tax-deductible as allowed by law.
- For members NOT electing the Intellectual Property Option, the entire annual membership fee may be considered tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Associate Member - $10,000 - $24,999 per year
Payable as $10,000+ cash, or $10,000+ Gift-in-Kind (GIK) at Fair Market Value (FMV).
